Cool Nerdy Stuff

Home Ask Submit Archive GPOY's 365

My name is Ryan, figure I should mention that. I am engineering college student, currently trying to finish his senior year. I obviously consider myself a nerdy gamer geek of sorts, I've got a number of tattoos, I make funny faces. I'm a big supporter and advocate for the queer (LGBTQIA) community, and there was something else I really wanted to put here but I can't remember at all. Feel free to ask me anything, I'm pretty open to answering dumb shit.

I basically just post art (usually of a darker nature, and usually crediting the artist), anime and video game related posts, sciencey things, Doctor Who, comics, and general generalness. I almost never follow back, though I will most likely check out your tumblr and IF you are worthy, I might follow you back.

I've made a few friends through tumblr, so feel free to try and become one by messaging me!

PHONATION
[noun]
phonation has slightly different meanings depending on the subfield of phonetics. Among some phoneticians, phonation is the process by which the vocal folds produce certain sounds through quasi-periodic vibration. This is the definition used among those who study laryngeal anatomy and physiology and speech production in general. Other phoneticians, however, call this process quasi-periodic vibration voicing, and they use the term phonation to refer to any oscillatory state of any part of the larynx that modifies the airstream, of which voicing is just one example. As such, voiceless and supra-glottal phonation are included under this definition, which is common in the field of linguistic phonetics.
