HEY GUYS CAN WE JUST TALK ABOUT HOW AWESOME ENRIQUE IS!?
K, so when I’m not spazzing out over Tales of Symphonia, I’m also showing my roommate how awesome Skies of Arcadia is. And, I mean, I remember playing this game and loving how cool Vyse was, and how much I ADORE Aika, and how Fina is this really nice girl but still fun and original,
You get to the point where you’ve just finished Daccat’s Island, and you go back to Nasr, and THIS ASSHOLE is waiting for you
You’re ready to kick ass, but Fina grabs you and is all, “No Vyse, you can’t win!” because that’s what this game does: it TELLS YOU when to give up. And so you go along, earn the swashbuckler points, but then guess what? YOU’RE TRAPPED. IN VALUA. FFFFFFFFFFFFFF-
Not a good situation. You’re in a cell with Gilder, somemagnificent bastardasshole named Vigoro is trying to put the moves on Aika, Fina gets taken away to probably get bitch slapped by Valuan guards again, and they take the Moon Stone Crystals that you worked so damn hard to get. Dammit!
Luckily Gilder is one hell of a classy guy and knows how to break out of a jail cell. So you bust out, kick Vigoro’s ass and grab Fina. Well that’s great, but you’re still trapped in Valua, and even if you bust out, Teodora’s got control of two Gigas!
You suddenly hear a voice! It’s-
Enrique! Now, I remember Enrique being a pretty cool guy, but I had forgotten WHAT A BRO this guy is! He tells you to follow him, and he leads you onto the deck of a ship. What ship?
THE DELPHINUS. Enrique tells you, “Yeah, this is my ship, but you know what? I want you to take it.”
BUT THAT’S NOT ALL.
Enrique asks to fight with you. The PPRINCE of Valua. Asks to help you FIGHT Valua. And he doesn’t say, “Hey, let me come with you otherwise you can’t have my boat.” He offers to go as ahostage,if it would get him out of Valua. He gives you a boat, and then he ASKS to come along.
Sorry man, I just don’t think it would work out HELL YES JOIN THE PARTY
So of course everybody is thrilled, but then Aika of all people has to be a downer and remind everybody that Valua still has the Moon Crystals! WELL SHIT.
Enrique’s all, “Oh, you mean THESE Moon Crystals? I swiped them before I got here.”
SO. Enrique. THE MAN. Goes behind his Mom’s back, helps Air Pirates escape from prison, GIVES THEM the most powerful ship in the Armada, and then turns around and FIGHTS AGAINST HIS OWN ARMY with you!
And what can he contribute? He gets critical hits ALL THE TIME, has more MP than Vyse, and one of his skills, Justice Shield, reduces an enemy’s attack to HALF DAMAGE.
I could go on and on, but I’ll save that for a later post. For now, I’m looking forward to playing the rest of the game.
